Free versus Entrepreneur

Tonight, I want to go over what a free membership is and what an entrepreneur is on PeopleString. This is according to my own understanding from what I have experienced as a free member and what I have read about. I am considering the entrepreneur program as an option right now.
Free Membership - PeopleString is great for someone who wants a portal to their social networking sites, IM applications, google searches, online shopping and more. You can earn money through search/ad revenue, rebates, referrals, and offers in the People Dollars section. As a free member, you receive 5% of all of your direct referrals' earnings and 2% of everything from levels 2 through 6 (what your direct referrals' referrals earn). Free members get paid once a month. In order to receive payment, you must have earned at least $25.
Entrepreneur Program - For a limited time (the time limit is set by a number of entrepreneurs to hit rather than a specific date), PeopleString users are given the option to upgrade from being a free member to being an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are just like the free members except they are looking to build their membership into more of a business. They have upgraded communication features and benefits that are not available to free members. An entrepreneur may or may not use the site more than a free member but they will see more earnings due to the percentage difference that they make on their referrals and the tools and information provided to them. Also, entrepreneurs help the free members learn and earn, which also leads to more earnings for the entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurs receive 20% from their direct referrals' earnings and 6% from levels 2 through 6 (what their direct referrals' referrals earn); however, if they have any referrals that signed up under them before they upgraded to become an entrepreneur, they will always earn what free members earn on those specific referrals (5% and 2% rather than 20% and 6%)! The cost to upgrade is $200 and it covers two years. There are no monthly fees. Entrepreneurs get paid every two weeks. In order to receive payment, you must have earned at least $25.

The $200 upgrade seems worth it to me because it works out to be about $8.33 a month. It should be easy to make that back every month and then some. Just think about all the things you spend money on in any given month. This is an investment!

**Update: This option is no longer available. You can still join today as a free member!

Guess Which Hand

PeopleString has added a new way to accumulate People Points. I purposely didn't use the word "earn" because this new feature is actually a game! The game is called "Guess Which Hand" and I must warn you in advance that it's very addictive! You simply place a bet of 10, 25, 35, or 50 People Points and try to guess which hand the quarter is in. If you win, you win the amount that you bet. If you lose, you lose the amount that you bet. It seems to me that the quarter can be found in his right hand more often than the left. ;o)
**Update: Guess Which Hand has changed. You can play once every half an hour for a chance to win 30 People Points. You no longer risk your own points when playing.

PeopleString also has a Prize Wheel. You get a free spin on the wheel when you first sign up and when you refer someone. I also received a spin on the wheel because of a cell phone/Facebook survey that I completed in the Mailbox-Cashbox section. The prizes on the wheel vary from 20 People Points to $100. **Update: You can now earn a daily spin!

Learning the Ropes

I received my "landing site" link today from my friend, Sam, who I signed up under on PeopleString! :oD Today, I learned the difference between People Dollars and People Points.

  • People Points don't have a set cash value. You earn them through doing various things and it helps to determine how active you are on the site. This is important for when they go to share the ad revenue with the PeopleString users. Remember, PeopleString shares 70% of their ad revenue with us!! Sam created a .pdf document about how to maximize your People Points. It explains five things that you can do to make 50 People Points every 12 hours. To summarize, you earn 10 People Points for completing each of the following tasks: log in, utilize the Google search bar, check your PeopleString e-mail, check the Mailbox-Cashbox section, and visit the Cash Back Shopping section. **Update: You can now do this every six-hour period!
  • People Dollars do have a set cash value. 100 People Dollars = $1.00. There are many things you can do to earn People Dollars, such as taking surveys, signing up for newsletters, and participating in free trial offers. **I set up a separate e-mail address and free voicemail account just for this purpose.

Getting Started

Yesterday, my first day on PeopleString, I earned $.10 for signing up, $.10 for linking my Facebook account with my PeopleString account, and $.63 for taking a short survey about milk...which made me then have a craving for milk! Today, I was only on the site for a short time. I completed two small offers. I earned $.10 for answering some questions about my cell phone and Facebook. I also earned $.15 cents for utilizing a Facebook application - Crazy Dream.
I also have $1.50 pending because I signed up for a program called Mailbox-Cashbox. I answered 30 questions and I'm now waiting on a code to come via the postal service (a.k.a. snail mail). Once I enter the code, I'll receive the $1.50 that's pending.

Mailbox-Cashbox is basically a program that pays you to receive offers from PeopleString's marketing partners. You choose whether you want to receive them through snail mail, e-mail, or both. You also can decide the amount you'd like to receive. I'll have to post about this again after I get my code and receive some offers so that I can accurately explain how it all works. By the way, this is the program that pays you $.50 for each person that you get to sign up under you. In order to receive the $.50, your referrals need to not only sign up for PeopleString but also sign up for the Mailbox-Cashbox program.

Signing Up

Today, I joined PeopleString! One of my Facebook friends has mentioned his activity on PeopleString in a few status updates. My curiosity finally got the best of me today so I went to see what it was all about. After reading some basic information about the site, I thought it sounded interesting enough. The idea of earning money by using a social networking site is something I haven't heard of before. PeopleString shares 70% of the revenue they make through ads, searches, and paid placements. I think it's worth trying out. After all, the account is free and, if nothing else, I figure maybe I'll learn something new! My user name is JenniferAlice.
